Ok, a couple of points as we restart our traveling blog. I wasn’t completely shocked that our last post was on our last big trip, three months in Portugal in 2025. I was, however, a bit shocked to see our last post was about heading to Coimbra, given that it was about halfway through that trip.
Friends will know that I tend to have periods of engaging outwards as well as retreating inwards. As we travel, there is always a lot to share but sometimes the time we have is best spent exploring and not documenting and posting. Lest anyone forgets, we are also working almost the entire time we are traveling with regular work schedules. Maybe that is a valid reason, maybe an excuse. I guess I make a horrible blogger.
I have also realized that as amazing as I find places, others may not. Wanting to share as much as possible makes it hard to find the time to get the words and (so many) photos to align. I also end up writing novelettes that might make me happy but likely few care to fully read.
So as we embark on this great western bucket-list trip for the next 8 months, I’m going to write shorter blogs and attempt to write in a way that keeps the breadcrumbs coming. Can I do it? Stay tuned to find out.
